Dear diary

Our numbers have depleted since you last heard from us. A local derby away to Holcombe and with us we took 12 players.
We started strong and despite us shocking Holcs with 2 early breaks and them making 2 goal-line saves, the score line stayed 0-0 going into the first quarter (one might say that’s a rare sight) with solid defending from Jina, Taylor, Lydia and Phil.

The second quarter saw Holcs win some shorties. Twisting and turning, Becs said “access denied” however, they did manage to convert just before half time.
Second half started with our true form, chaos (just how we like it, but not quite how Tom likes it). We managed to control ourselves and created some beautiful build up play through Rachel, Scotty, Chloe and Tilly in our midfield. A Holcs foul + a very switched on Taylor meant a quick free hit was taken. The ball travelled 5 and Taylor struck the ball outside the D, which was touched by Sue inside the D, taking it past the Holcs defender and right into the path of EJ’s stick on the back post. 1-1 !!!!

If we had the choice, our diary entry would end here, HOWEVER, there is one more quarter to report on. The fourth quarter saw Holcs score 1 more goal (they also scored at the end of the third quarter) (boringgggg) and the only thing we’d like to highlight in this quarter is the superb scenes of Number 1 running by the newly declared “Great Wall of China”, previously known as Millie.

Overall, a great day out. Fun was had and the match teas were delish (10/10 would recommend) – Shoutout to Yaz and Laura for being athletes and getting the call up during the week, meaning that we got extra teas

DOD: Jina – driving like a maniac and doing the splits during the game
MOM: Lydia – for playing sensationally and trusting Jina, EJ and Taylor to get home safely (p.s. we delivered her safely to her Mum)

XOXO
