Deciding to leave Polo in plenty of time to get through the shopping traffic for the early Darford push back, only to be told on route that Bluewater doesn’t open until later on a Saturday……. Captain Julie G was awarded an early D OF THE D!
So of course arriving in plenty of time we had amble time to warm up, take refreshments and have our last cup of coffee before the oppo appeared!
The day was grizzly, that nasty damping driving rain that blew into our faces, a difficult game for glass wearers.
We looked comfortable from the start moving the ball easily between the team and sprinkling the goal mouth with plenty of goal chances. As the pressure continued our nerves were finally settled on 22 mins as a mazy run by Mariama from the right resulted in a sweet far post goal from our new found goal scoring machine Georgia ( not bad for a GK!!).
The second half started much of the same as our lead increased on 49 mins with a sneaky goal on the far post this time by Mariama.
Both Georgia and MJ were involved with goal number 3, but the best goal of the game was scored by our ” Back To Hockey” star Odette who claimed her first goal of the season and a huge “whoop” from the crowd!
As the temperature dropped and the rain increased Canterbury lost a little of their concentration enabling the battling Dartford number 12 pull one back.
A good game from everyone, we were pleased with the win.
Christmas jumpers next week please as its our last game before Christmas, lets end this half of the season with a BANG!
