Canterbury 3s came away with a 2–2 draw against Herne Bay 1s after a strong performance with lots of possession, attacking play, and a dramatic finish that saw them come close to snatching the win.

Herne Bay struck first, scoring against the run of play after a quick break and finish to take a 1–0 lead. Despite the early setback, Canterbury stayed composed, controlling possession and increasing the pressure.

Their dominance was rewarded midway through the half when they earned a short corner. A clean injection and stop set up Chirpy at the top of the D, who drilled a powerful straight strike past the keeper to bring Canterbury level at 1–1.

Canterbury started the second half brightly, and their positive play paid off almost immediately. Bex picked up the ball at the centre of the pitch and fired a superb ball into the D at pace. Pippa showed great awareness and touch, getting the slightest but crucial deflection to guide it past the keeper and give Canterbury a 2–1 lead.

Despite Canterbury continuing to dictate the tempo, Herne Bay managed to equalise. A rare spell of sustained pressure led to a messy scramble in front of goal, and the visitors managed to force the ball over the line to make it 2–2.

The final two minutes belonged entirely to Canterbury. They won three consecutive short corners, but were unlucky to not get a winning goal.
