Greetings and salutations!
Herewith the match report below.
Pre-match:
While most of the team were locked in and getting in the zone, Soph and Becca bravely embarked on a mission of national importance, hunting down free sandwiches. Not only did they succeed, but they also generously offered them around right as all the ladies wanted warm up to start. Priorities: immaculate.
Quarter 1:
We came out flying, high press, high energy, high intensity. A couple of short sprints, some excellent running, and enough pressure to make their defenders question their life choices. The vibes? Elite.
Quarter 2:
Still relentless. Still intense. Still pressing like our lives depended on it. Unfortunately, they snuck one in but honestly, no one was counting and out heads stayed high.
Half-time:
Towner was speechless (which never happens). Apparently, we were doing “the right things” and “something was going to come soon”… hopefully. Formation shuffle time! Three brave soldiers were sent to man the back, and Melly was deployed to do bits in the mid. Tactical genius.
Quarter 3:
The pressure continued. Fitness levels solid. Sweat. Passion. Chaos. And just as Towner predicted, something did come of it. A beautiful finish courtesy of none other than Towner’s wife, remember the name KATE, with a classy deflection from a shot by Soph (who still swears it was her goal — bless her).
Quarter 4:
We were up in their grill. Causing frustration. Rattling both the players and their supporters EVEN the coach. Multiple counters, endless energy, but sadly no more goals. That said, the umpires decided to get into the festive spirit early, handing them short corners like Santa with gifts. 🎁
Huge thanks to Andy for taking one for the team (literally). Next time, we’ll make sure all umpires have a Specsavers visit booked prior to the match. Still we were there. Dominant.
Post-match:
Finally, we can relax and take a well-earned pint. UP THE BRIE! 🧀 Congrats to the WestHam fans too, but tbh Canter
