Match report:
Canterbury opened the match with real intent, settling in quickly and putting Burnt Ash under pressure from the first whistle. The passing was sharp and controlled, with the midfield moving the ball confidently and keeping Canterbury on the front foot.
The early dominance paid off within the first ten minutes. After sustained pressure, Canterbury earned a short corner. Sav delivered a clean(ish) injection straight to Lizzie at the top of the D. Lizzie fired a powerful straight strike that forced a strong save from the Burnt Ash keeper — but the rebound dropped perfectly for Poppy, who reacted instantly and swept a reverse shot into the goal to make it 1–0.
For the rest of the game, Canterbury continued to show their strength across the pitch. There were countless driving runs up the wings, clever leads up front, and hard graft in midfield to keep possession flowing. Defensively, the squad was rock solid — great tackles, disciplined marking, and calm clearances under pressure ensured Burnt Ash never found a way back into the match.
After a determined team performance from start to finish, the final whistle confirmed a well-earned 1–0 victory for Canterbury. A brilliant win built on teamwork, energy, and a perfectly executed short corner routine.
