Canterbury 4s continued their 100% winning start to the the season with a gritty win over Sittingbourne 2s.
The 4s defended resolutely in the first half, boosted by the signing of Chris Laslett paired in defence with Alan Carter and half backs Joe Lester and Isaac Stroud. Isaac continued his burgeoning reputation with another stellar performance.
Half way through the first half, a delicious free flowing play, made it 1-0 to the good guys. Lazaa, Matt Lea and Hursty linking up to put Jonny through on goal- never in doubt. The second swiftly followed through a 4s special short corner routine with Podd the beneficiary.
We were under siege for the rest of the half, but Sittingbourne ran into inspired form from Andy Howard in goal- still arguably the best goalkeeper at the club.
Sittingbourne fought back well in the second half, and made it a real arm-wrestle. However, Podd collecting his second, and Hursty the match-winner via a bullet drag ensured the 4s left with all three points.
