The Grims took a trip to Maidstone for a tough game—one we’ve lost in the last couple of years.

We started off very strong, keeping possession well and finding the direct ball to Ben, which led to some good chances. We ended up putting one away not too long into the first half, followed by another goal before half-time. We went into the break 2-0 up and feeling confident.

We started the second half playing well, but Maidstone were also looking strong. They pulled one back halfway through the second half to make it 2-1, and from there the game became very back and forth.

They managed to scrape another goal near the end of the game, levelling it at 2-2. In the final five minutes, things got very heated. A poor attempt at an aerial from George Coombs gave the ball straight to their striker, but fortunately, they didn’t capitalise further.

In the end, we came away with an unfortunate 2-2 draw. It was a good, hard-fought game that could have gone either way.
