Loughts 2 – 0 Canterbury
A lovely day for a bit of stickball in the capital.
Seeing as not every club has their own pitch( a relocation to Lee Valley meant that we had to play on a lovely little dirty pitch.
With 3 new juniors making their debut for the men’s 1s the group was in good spirits, however, it was a tricky start as we conceded 5 corners in the first couple of minutes. With Harrison and Cal running a tight line it remaining 0-0 until Loughts finally converted from a corner. 1-0 down Canterbury stuck to the gameplan and continued to cause some real pressure higher up the pitch getting some good chances in the opposition D but failed to convert.
The second half was all Canterbury with lots of pressure trying to get level on the scoresheet, however, it was Loughts who made it 2-0 on the counter attack. Back and forth with chances on both ends but it just wasn’t meant to be and a loss on the open day.
