A cracking start to the season for the ladies 5s with a 2-0 win away vs New Beccehamians 2s.
The match was fairly evenly balanced in the first half with goal scoring opportunities at both ends. Towards the end of the first half, Canterbury were able to score from a short corner when Millie S pounced on a rebound. 1-0 Canterbury.
The game really opened up in the second half which allowed the 5s to build the play through the midfield, creating lots of shots on goal. Lou C received a pass at CM and was able to drive to the top of the D and strike the ball home. What a goal!!
Good defensive work from the team & some superb saves from Ava S in goal meant the 5s came away with a 2-0 win.
Player of the match was Hermione P on debut who worked tirelessly in midfield and was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
