Another tough one at the weekend for the Grims boys. Burnt Ash made the journey down for the 4pm prime slot at the fortress with the boys looking to bounce back and win 3 points.

The game started strong for both teams with the Grims playing some nice hockey and sticking to the game plan. Chances didn’t come often for the lads but we stuck to it and got stuck in. The young lads putting in a shift with Will G smashing it in defence again and taking on the role of chief cleaner around the pitch.

Bucks was the first to see a green for what is called a ‘tackle’ but not one that’ll you’ll see coached much. Hamish, the second for only being 4.99M away from the player leading to a PC and then Goodman for probably the least green card tackle he had done out of the 7… thankfully no plastic cheese.

HT 0-0. We were in the game and hopeful, we were in the game and hopeful. 15 minutes in, a very annoying, soft goal after we switched off put us 1-0 down and had us chasing and then final 5 minutes a second from a rebound PC game them the 2-0 win. Not many chances for the boys and we have learnt the hard way, that you can play nice hockey and stick to a game plan but if you don’t put the ball in the net, you can’t win and scrappy hockey gets you wins..

Week off then Folkestone 1’s at home which will prove to be another tough one…
