Bristol 2 Canterbury 0
Canterbury started the game on top, keeping possession and creating chances but unfortunately didn’t trouble the Bristol keeper. Canterbury were patient with their build up play and found pockets in the midfield to bounce balls in and out of to gain possession up the pitch. The first quarter saw Canterbury have some short corners which were stopped by the GK, the first runner & then a well worked move back to the injector didn’t quite pay off with Malta choosing to pass the ball, rather than shoot into the net with the GK on the floor.
The second quarter saw Canterbury keep the pressure on Bristol, with Bristol having some counter attacks, which were defended well by Canterbury. Half time saw the two teams level. The third quarter saw Bristol go down to 10 men, with Canterbury further applying pressure and having some shots on target, but not converting any. Another 4 shorts were awarded to Canterbury across the quarter which weren’t converted after a few variations from the Top of the D. Bristol then won a short corner with almost the last touch of the third quarter and converted it to go 1 0 up.
The fourth quarter saw Bristol sitting deep playing on the counter, with Canterbury controlling possession but not converting any chances created. With not long left Bristol chucked an aerial which led to their second goal to put the game to bed. A frustrating day for the boys in white & green, who will look to put things right next Saturday away to Sevenoaks.
