The 3s started off well in the first half, maintaining composure with Marden’s attacks, which frustrated the opposition. There were many good opportunities for Canterbury, with a few shots and short corners, and penalty flick which was unfortunately saved by the Marden keeper, and then finally Canterbury took the lead in the 24th minute with a fabulous hit from Mimi straight into the net of the goal, a well deserved 1-0 to us. Canterbury maintained this great play with another goal when Fee made an amazing run with the ball, and passed it into the D where EJ scored, bringing the score up to 2-0. For the last few minutes of the first half, Marden were getting more and more desperate for a goal, and with the 3s constantly working hard and slowly getting tired, Marden managed to score a goal minutes before the end of the first half.

During the second half, Marden were constantly battling for another goal, which eventually came after slowly tiring out Canterbury’s defence line. Despite Marden getting more shots on goal, Canterbury still managed to make many great opportunities, getting some short corners and shots and even hitting the post but unfortunately the ball would no go over the line even after several goal mouth scrambles and no more goals were scored for Canterbury despite our efforts. With everyone slowly getting tired, Marden managed to score 3 goals in the second half, making the score 4-2 to Marden in the end. Sadly another loss but a great team performance with many positives to take into next weeks match
