On Saturday morning our Ladies 4’s took on Bexleyheath & Belvedere on the Canterbury top pitch. It was a beautiful day and the team was feeling positive and ready to secure 3 points. With 4 subs, and Lachlan coaching there was confidence in the air.
We started strong, controlling the game securing our first short corner. This was expertly converted by Mimi, with a beautiful tomahawk in the back right corner.
Shortly following this we won a penalty flick, where Sapphire buried it left corner. This 2-0 lead into half time had us feeling on good form and propelled us into the final half. The final half was full of good hockey from both sides but we maintained our structure and secured a well worked final goal by Heidi! This had us finishing with a final score of 3-0 to Canterbury!
Our strong defencive efforts gave us a clean sheet and our first win for the season, whoop whoop!
