On Saturday the ladies 3s travelled away for their 1st league match of the season against Folkestone optimist 2s.
The game started off strong with both sides holding equal amounts of possession. Some great keeping from Georgia Binfield and hard work from our defenders (including MOM Jaime Cooper) kept Canterbury in the game. Unfortunately due to a long ball through both our midfield and defensive lines to an opposing forward Folkestone took a 1-0 lead.
After the half time break Canterbury had a strong period of play resulting in multiple short corners which they were unlucky not to get past the keeper. The second half ended with a great shot from Evie to the top right hand side of the goal, but a great save from Folkestone’s keeper meant the game ended at 1-0 to Folkestone optimists.
A great team performance overall, lots of positives and things to build on in the coming weeks as the new look squads bonds more
