The start to the Men’s 2s campaign looked bright from the start. With the Sun shining and the boys carrying their momentum from beating the 1s in training during the week. There was a great energy on the Field.
The game was tough from the get go with Canterbury looking like the stronger side. But it was Sittingbourne who broke the deadlock first. As the dust settled from the opener the 2s began to find their feet in the final third with Ali converting from a short corner and CJ following shortly after with a tidy finish from open play.
Taking the lead going into Halftime, it was necessary the boys continued to keep the pressure high and push on to try and secure the game. As the later stages of the game unfolded momentum was most certainly with the green and white and a quick counter attack lead to a smash finish from Tyler Aitken to seal the game.
Oh yeah, and there was a yellow card somewhere in there but I can’t really remember that bit…
