On a warm Saturday morning the 3’s took on the South Saxons with bare 11. After an encouraging pep talk by Lizzie in the changing rooms we headed out onto the pitch. We had a strong start with good possession of the ball in their defensive half but with the unfamiliarity of their questionable pitch base we conceded a goal. Still fighting back we continued to keep the score at 0-1 by half time.
After receiving some tips, tricks and treats we set out more determined than before into the second half. We converted our play into a short corner with Lizzie standing on the edge of the D for a short option, absolutely whacking it and scoring a beautiful goal into the left bottom corner. Unfortunately with our best efforts to come back even stronger after equalising South Saxons were able to sneak some more goals in ending in a 6-1 loss. With some beautiful plays by Sophie, Rachel and Becky there really was no faulting our game we were just unlucky this time.
