The first week of two away fixtures up in South East London.
The game started well with the skipper poking a close range shot between the keepers pads after a melee in the D.
With confidence set we started to see Jim, David, James and Dell control the midfield and it wasn’t long before Jim had another goal from a crisp shot from the top of the D, from a well earned short corner. For 15 minutes we looked very sure and another short corner allowed Jo to ghost in at the post and guide Jim’s delivery around the keeper.
At 3 – 0 and do early on we really should have gone away and scored many more but for about 20 minutes either side of half time we couldn’t get enough right!
Blackheath were no push over and managed to pull one back despite heroic defence from David, Graeme and then Jo and Nick in the middle. David’s return from Ireland vets was welcome and he too was pushed at times.
A strong game from Dell in mid-field gave the chance for James to deflect a pass into the net with the most delicate of touches
Another good week for the two juniors, in Archie and Isaac, who continue to grow in stature and seem hungry to be involved.
