Coming off the back of a tough game away last week, Canterbury were rearing to go and grab some points. We started strong moving the ball round the back and in the midfield nicely, but we’re unlucky to come away with something. Slough, who are a very strong and threatening team attacked with purpose but couldn’t break the defense. Canterbury carried with intent and agression making leads up the lines and infield creating many change but again were unlucky. Unfortunately jsut before half time Slough secured a penalty corner which led to a goal making it 1-0 at half time. After taking on plenty of fluids and sweets Canterbury we’re prepared to chase the lead. After continued resolute defending all over the pitch Canterbury were finally rewarded with a fantastic team goal from Iona putting the score at 1-1. Eager to take the lead Canterbury kept fighting even throughout the rain and drizzle they remained resilient. Going into the third half and the score line still 1-1 both teams were eager to take the points. Like Canterbury, Slough were fierce and hungry to win and luckily managed to score another penalty corner edging into the lead making it 2-1. Canterbury rebounded quickly creating more ‘23 entries but falling short, the final score ended 2-1 to the away team but Canterbury were tenacious right to the final whistle.
