Brighton made their way to the sunny fortress which is Canterbury HC.
The boys started strong by winning a penalty corner within the first 5 minutes of the match, unfortunately nothing came of it. Against the run of play Brighton saw themselves take the lead by a well taken goal into the top right hand corner of the goal. However, with the new team philosophy(cuddles and huddles) we bounced back with a simple tap in from Nathan Fouhy making the game all level. Moments later, Tom Bean smashed one into the left hand side of the goal seeing the boys go 2-1 up. As time went on Canterbury had all the ball creating opportunities but unable to convert. Mr Tweedie saw himself on the end of a green card resulting in the team going down to 10 men. The boys did not let that phase them and remained calm. Then young gun Nathan Summer slaps a lovely ball in that found the sliding stick of Callum Brown-Lea meaning the boys go 3-1 up.
Then the second half commences and Canterbury could smell blood. With good attacking pressure and only a few hospital passes, the fake Aussie Callum Brown-Lea find himself on the score sheet again with a wonderful finish that left the keeper stranded in no man’s land. That’s 4-1. Against the run of play Brighton managed to sneak a goal in making it 4-2. After the goals things went bad to worse, seeing the Captain Tom Deg receiving a yellow card. Once again the boys did not let that phase them and the kept playing the hockey they are use to and for good reason. Hamish Roberts scored with well placed finish, seeing the boys go 5-2 up. The boys kept applying pressure and that meant 2 more goals came. Josh Prebble and Nathan Fouhy and on the score sheet. In the last play of the game Brighton found themselves winning a penalty corner and dispatching meaning the final score was 7-3 to Canterbury
