Woke up this morning and the weather was so so cold ready for a game day at home.
We start the day with a lovely, inspirational, heart warming team talk from Becks to get us started, slay. SO, to give us the best advantage, we fielded 12 players (alas the umpires rumbled us and we went back to the legal 11 players). It was only 3 mins into the game and BANG! goal from the only Chirpy to take us to 1-0. What a queen! only a minute after our first goal, Pippa said to herself she was going to get on that score sheet and she did just that! An icon. 2-0 and it’s only the start of the game! We were in for a good one. We constantly dominated; the other team were questioning why they ever joined hockey, bless them. Attack was on point, mids were slaying every pass and our defence were still as strong as the Great Wall of China. We continued to dominate but the refs decided it would be a good idea to award the opposing team a penalty flick. However that was no problem for our skipper Becks the Goalie as she denied them a goal with a fantastic save, awarding her a tremendous roar from her team. never doubted her to be honest. Not long after we were on the hunt for another attack and scored a deflection from newbie Tara. We were now well into the first half when the opposing team realised that we were stunning and we went on to moving the ball well and a fabulous play, Irmak with a tap in to get us to 4-0 just as we reach half time. The next half we relaxed a bit too much and let our opposition score from a short corner making it 4-1. Again the umpires awarded Ftown ANOTHER penalty stroke. Same player stepped up to take it and Becks denied her a goal AGAIN. 2 out of 2 p-flick saves from the one and only Becks. not very slay for that player eek. They were still much more aggressive in their attack and converted a short corner to take the game to 4-2. We ended on high with a comfortable win, concluding this derby.
A fantastic performance from everybody slay queens and a one and a half thumbs up from Jinane!!
