On a cold but sunny Saturday afternoon, the Canterbury ladies 3s set out with determination to play Ashford’s ladies 1’s. Ashford started the game strong, Canterbury fighting hard to resist the pressure but remained secure. Soon enough, Canterbury switched on and saw some good tactical play down the wings; resulting in some opportunities on goal. It was end-to-end, with Canterbury switching between attack to defence- all players had to work hard to maintain the draw. Notably, Georgia- the goalkeeper- played fantastically, denying Ashford to score multiple times and keeping the belief in the team high- she was given the man of the match. Passion ran high and soon the game turned very physical, but our determination never broke. However, Ashford managed to score at the end of the second half- making it 0-1. The game ended at 0-1 to Ashford, but this score did not reflect how well the 3s played and how they kept composure throughout.
