In our most recent game, we found ourselves on the wrong end of a 6-3 scoreline against Oxsted 2nd XI at our home playing round. It was a challenging match that tested our mettle with very promising signs of what is and what could be.
The scoring unfolded as Callum opened the proceedings for us, notching a goal that injected early optimism into the team. Ali Figgis demonstrated his precision from a short corner, executing a brilliantly placed shot into the top right-hand corner of the net, leveling the score.
Sam followed up with a composed finish, adding to our tally and keeping us in contention. However, despite our best efforts, Oxsted proved to be a formidable opponent, ultimately securing the victory with six goals of their own.
As we reflect on this rather frustrating game, we acknowledge the areas where improvement is needed and focus on the lessons learned. Our next challenge awaits us on the road, as we prepare to face Sevenoaks 2s in our upcoming match. It’s an opportunity to regroup, fine-tune our strategy, and come back stronger in pursuit of a more favorable result. We remain committed to the journey ahead and know the growth of our team can bring many positive results and a strong season ahead.
