With time to spare before our first away fixture of the season against Sevenoaks, headshots were taken and with some being more picky than others (Alice) DOD was decided before we had even stepped foot on the pitch.
From the pushback Sevenoaks were very strong in their attack leading to an early goal from a breakaway and strike from the top of the D. We kept our heads on and created chances with some excellent runs down the line and winning corners, however we unfortunately were unable to convert.
Sevenoaks second and last goal of the game came from a well worked short corner before the half time whistle.
After some words of wisdom and motivation from coach Ollie, Canterbury came out ready to push on. Strong defensive work throughout the squad, MOM performance from Tilly denying the Sevenoaks forward line on multiple occasions, and some incredible saves from Aurora, meant we were able to keep Sevenoaks from converting anymore chances.
Despite shots on goal and determined attacks, we were unable to level the score resulting in a 0-2 loss. Although it wasn’t the score line we wanted, there are lots of positives to take through to next week as we face Wimbledon at home.
