🥳LEAGUE WINNERS 🥳
After losing last week in a top of table clash to Tunbridge wells , it looked as though Canterbury had lost the chance to be promoted as league winners.
However, as they have done all season, Canterbury came out for the last game, ready to give it their best shot and have some fun.
First half saw Canterbury in control but still “in the car” and a bit lack lustre. They went into half time 1-0 up after a super ‘knobby’ goal from Nikki .
By Second half, everyone was raring to go and we dominated with, at times, sublime hockey! Kendra was called on few times to clear up at the back, which she did in her usual calm fashion.
With a wonder goal finally from Sibs (4th time lucky), a “don’t shoot from there… great goal Georgina” goal and a please don’t miss from there goal by Libby, Canterbury found themselves 4-0 at the final whistle. The team were happy to finish the season with the win, but this quickly turned to jubilation on hearing that Tunbridge Wells had drawn their game meaning Canterbury are promoted league winners on goal difference of three!
Thoroughly well deserved from a team that has gone from strength to strength throughout the season…not a schoolgirl in sight!!! Bring on next season! 💚💚💚💚
