Dear diary,
It looked cold but it was realllyyy hot. The sun was shining, we were sweating. We needed a win to prevent relegation so it was an important match. With a young team and a new structure on the pitch, we were ready to go. Starting the game with a strong press and putting lots of pressure on the opposition, we created many chances on goal. With relentless attacking, we managed to win a few short corners which were unlucky not to get us any goals. Woking had a few counter attacks with one resulting in a short corner. A well practiced routine got them a goal and Canterbury were 1-0 down. This didn’t stop the trust and relentless play between the team and we had a few more chances on goal. Canterbury got the ball in the D from a great run by Kayla and a short corner was won. With a strike on goal and a rebound from Iona, a goal was scored! 1-1 at half time. Canterbury, still looking for the important win, went back on to the pitch with the same press and put Woking under lots of pressure. We had the ball and were attacking the majority of the half. Woking had a couple of counters but Becs was on it and made lots of incredible saves with some great defending from Lorna and Emma. The second half was a close match and Canterbury were very unlucky to not get more goals.
It was a great game for the 2s to end on and the ladies are very unlucky to be relegated this season. So much effort was put in to every match and the team should be proud of their strong performances!! XOXO gossip girl
