Won 3-0

With Canterbury looking to bounce back from a disappointing result away the previous weekend, they faced Team Bath Buccaneers. Canterbury was looking for another three points as they look to close out the rest of the season on a high.

The home side started on the front foot maintaining possession of the ball, shifting the opposition defence around. Not long after the first whistle Craig Boyne broke through the midfield and played a cleverly weighted ball through to Jack Valentine. Who ceased the opportunity to get a quick squeeze shot into the back of the net, making the score 1-0. With sustained pressure, Canterbury once again found themselves looking dangerous. Jack Valentine found himself on the ball in the D and decisively flicked it into the net past the goalkeeper, making it two for him and Canterbury. After a positive start for the home side, they looked to replicate the same intensity throughout the game.

After a short team talk the boys lined up for what looked to be another strong quarter. Not long into the second quarter, the home team capitalised through Rhys Harmer who struck the ball into goal from close range making it 3-0 to the home team. The home side continued discipline meant the score stayed 3-0 as they went into half time thanks to some great saves by goalkeeper Chris Rea.

As the second half commenced the game started to open up allowing for the home side to showcase their disciplined conscientious defence stifling the oppositions attacks. This enabled some quick counter attacks from the home side creating chances from short corners. As the game opened up further and some beautiful skill from Alec Rasmussen, the home side were able to have a few chances with one being picked off the line from an effort by Rhys Harmer. As the final whistle went for the third quarter, the score remained 3-0.

As the fourth quarter started, the home side looked to sustain pressure and capitalise on chances whilst maintaining discipline in our defence and hold out for a clean sheet. The home side look to retain the ball and await the chances that arose from this. Despite not being able to capitalise on chances the home side due to diligent defending from the whole team were able to sustain the lead, resulting in a 3-0 win.

Canterbury face Brighton and Hove away next weekend, as they look to build on a positive three points and gain another valuable three points.

Thank you to everyone who came to support and created a superb atmosphere.
