The Canterbury fours headed up to Sevenoaks for an early match on a rainy morning. However, this didn’t stop Canterbury who had usual game plan of attack! attack! attack! for the first 5 mins after, no goal came during that time but Canterbury got a few short corners which Sevenoaks defended well. Milney took an amazing reverse hit strike from the top of the d and it went straight into the back of the goal. 1-0 up Canterbury was hungry for more. Within 5 minutes of the first goal Libby managed to get the ball across the line in a busy d. Canterbury won another short corner which Gina scored from. The half time score was 3-0 and the main issue Canterbury were having was continuously putting the ball at the goal keepers feet and needed to aim for the corners more. Sevenoaks came out wanting a goal but the defence stayed very calm making sensible passes and very good tackles. Milney got another well deserved goal from a classic rinky-dinky milney wobbling attack. The midfielders were working very hard to keep sending balls into the d for the fowards and running back to help the defenders if sevenoaks broke through. Canterbury had a very good press on the sixteens which meant that sevenoaks struggled to get the ball in their half. Libby finished the game by having a lovely shot from the top of the d into the goal. The final score 5-0.
A top of the table performance but still all to play for next week – top of the table clash- BRING IT ON!
