Super Saturday 🔥🔥🔥
Canterbury faced Sevenoaks after following a recent drop in form for the home side, looking to change things around. Knowing that it will be a tight game from the very start, Canterbury knew that the home fans would play a crucial role pushing the side forward.
The boys in green and white start off on a high dominating the play and were rewarded soon after as Degiovanni found Rasmussen with a pinpoint pass from midfield to put him through on goal who converted on his reverse giving the home side the advantage. Sevenoaks responded with one of their own sending the game 1-1 into half-time.
Knowing that it was there to be won, Canterbury came out strong looking to apply pressure onto the opposition . Rasmussen grabbed his second of the game after Boyne flung the ball into the D and was cooly deflected into the goal by Ras the Rabbit. Feeling that the momentum was with them Canterbury continued going forward with numbers, winning their first corner of the game, which was converted by no other than Mr. Puzey.
Canterbury seemed to have found their rhythm and kept pushing forwards as they knew there were more goals in the game. A few minutes later R. Harmer grabbed his first goal for the Mens 1s on his home debut in front of a full Polo crowd to extend the advantage to 3 goals.
Canterbury went into the final quarter with a 4-1 lead looking to cruise to victory which would have been an ideal scenario, but that wasn’t the case. Following two cards, the home side went down to final in the final minutes and conceded two late goals, however, managed to hold on to the lead, earning them a well deserved 3 points.
Thanks to all those that came to support and truly made it a Super Saturday 🙌🏻
