Canterbury 3s played away against top of the table, Holcomb 2s today. We started off strong and the midfielders Cara and Irmak passed through their defence. Unfortunately Holcomb gained a short corner which they scored from. With Canterbury now behind we strongly fought back to get a draw. Kate and Anna had lots of runs down the wing and we mostly kept possession in their half. We had a short corner but Lizzie’s hot was saved by the goalie. We kept fighting back and then cara had a free hit within the 25, where she dribbled round the baseline and passed 90 to Moi who tapped it in. Making the score 1-1. With our confidence restored we kept battling but Holcomb had a lucky break which resulted in the ball being hit in the back of the net. Jamie saved our defence by clearing the ball but Holcomb kept attacking and eventually we conceded another goal making the score 3-1. After half time team talk we continued trying to score another goal. But despite having a couple of short corners we couldn’t get one. The game ended 3-1 to Holcomb.
