Late on a mild February afternoon, the triumphant 4s continued their charge to the top on the table. Facing Ashford 3s on the sand pitch, Canterbury were reminded that we had to “earn the right to win!” Fired up we hit Ashford hard with relentless pressure, which led to Scarlett drilling one home from the top of the D! Super sub Mel stepped off the bench and within three touches had put one in the back of the net. This was closely followed by a second, before she had to sit down again. This was then closely followed by Nikki Triggs doing what she does best and firing another one home. A passage of strong passes led to 2 more goals from Pippa!
The two grannies (Sibs and Nikki) due to play vets the next day, decided to rest up for the second half and sort out their vets team tactics while on the bench. Canterbury continued to press, however we just couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net in the second half. The scoreline finished 6-0 and Canterbury 4s continue their battle in the title race!
