Dear diary,
With a quick warm up the ladies 2s started their match against Epsom 1s. Epsom started the game firing with some quick shots at goal but we managed to keep them all out for now. Once we gained some composure, the game settled down but Epsom were able to capitalise on a couple of quick breaks. As the half time whistle went, Canterbury found themselves 2-0 down. With a positive team talk where expectations were made clear, the girls headed out for a very different second half.
We started the second half much better and we were matching Epsom at their own game. Finding ourselves in the D we managed to get many short corners. After a well prepared short corner, Canterbury scored with a phenomenal rebound. Unfortunately the incredible play we showed in the second half was not enough to stop Epsom as they fired one more past us from a penalty corner to seal the final score at 3-1. The entire team showed such strength as we played an incredible second half and really showed them the skill and quality we have. A special shout out to our joint man of the matches Jorja and Iona who had some amazing performances today. And an extra special shout out to DOD Hannah who not only was late but fancied teas before the match as she went to the wrong place!!
