Apologies to the team for missing the print deadline last weekend.
I couldn’t possibly miss it this week, as I have to share with our readers that we have reached the dizzy heights of the top of the League!
Saturday was a cold crisp winter’s day, the perfect conditions for a top of the League clash.
It was to be expected that the team went out hard from the first whistle and fought for every possession which led to the winning goal in the first six minutes, captain Suzie tapping home the good work.
The game remained competitive with both teams chasing the points, GK Kendra saving brilliantly from Marden’s short corners.
Marden came out fighting in the second half and put us under sustained pressure, but true to form the team stood firm and absorbed everything they could throw at us.
The defence had a welcomed breather with some good forward attacks in the last 5 minutes, but the score stayed the same. A good day’s work and a fabulous result for the team!
