On a cold January morning, Canterbury 2’s arrived at Polo raring to go on pitch 1. Due to frosty weather conditions and umpire decisions, we relocated to the sand pitch. Another quick warm up and Canterbury we’re ready to go. The first half started with a lot of end to end play, with short corners at both ends. Oxted were lucky to capitalise one of these shorts and the score was 1-0 going in to half time. A good half time talk by Raz had Canterbury energised and ready for the second half. We persevered with attacking play and had a flurry of short corners in quick succession. Canterbury managed to score one of these short corners, however the goal was disallowed due to ‘anticipated danger’. Canterbury continued with their attacking nature but were unlucky to not covert anything into a goal. The game ended 1-0 to Oxted. Special mentioned to Chelsey and Rachel for their interesting tackles which ended in green cards. Man of the match was given to the whole team for their performance and dick of the day was given to EJ for a glamorous dive to hit the ball, which ended with the ball going off the pitch.
