Ladies 1st XI vs ISCA (Home) | 12 Nov 22

Drew 3-3

Scorers: Flint, Clewlow x2

MoM: Clewlow

DoD: Kerly

Canterbury started strong with an excellent level of energy. A brilliant piece of build up play led to Griggs and Kerly connecting to hit the post and nearly scoring off the back of the goalkeepers kicker. Unfortunately Canterbury were unable to find the backboard and ISCA capitalised on a good piece of individual skill undoing our defence. ISCA scored again and Canterbury found themselves 2-0 through an unfortunate series of events leading to an ISCA corner. A hard fought goal was gained back with a lift in intensity – Mary ‘causes chaos’ Flint finding the back of the net through a rebounded corner just before the half time whistle. Third quarter happened, can’t remember the details, Clewlow scored a big hit corner which probably happened sometime then… 2-2. Final quarter, Canterbury were under some sustained pressure and unfortunately conceded a third. Canterbury fought on believing a point could be salvaged still, and won a corner with minutes to spare. Up steps Clewlow with a whopper through the keepers legs with so much velocity it bounced back out before anyone reacted (basically). Onward and upwards with the drive and belief we had this weekend.
