The ladies 3s battled against Bromley and Beckenham 2s on home turf. Following an intense warm up, we started strong by securing a short corner which Lizzie managed to convert with a straight strike. Despite the upper hand, we still kept the intensity up. Bromley and Beckenham continued to put pressure on us but made no successful attempts to convert. Eventually, after an aggressive stick tackle was made by a Canterbury player, Bromley and Beckenham were awarded a short corner and managed to hit the backboard, making the score 1-1.
Canterbury were determined to secure another goal and continued to make some excellent runs, working as a team to get the ball up the channels. After many unsuccessful attempts to score another goal, Eleni managed to make contact with the backboard, putting us in the lead once again with the score being 2-1.
A whole team effort was made to keep Bromley and Beckenham from scoring another goal. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Canterbury!
