On a lovely sunny day in Broxbourne Canterbury Ladies O35’s made a cracking start with Mel Clewlow scoring a lovely straight strike from a short corner.
Broxbourne got back into the game with a very lucky deflection after Canterbury were caught sleeping on a free hit.
The game was pretty even after this but a visionary pass from Alex Hooker to Munnsy, a lovely pass up the line to Milney and across to Barnsey who scored in the bottom left.
Going into the second half we made hard work of things and had to defend a fair few corners but the defence held strong. There were some interesting tackles and things got a bit tense for a while. But finally Canterbury took the pressure off with Barnsey slotting home a short corner. Just before the whistle there was a cracking move from back to front but a good save was made by the keeper to keep the score 3-1 to Canterbury.
We move on to the next round on the 4th Dec, hoping for a nice home draw. Welcome to the Oldies Vicky O’Sullivan, it was a pleasure 😉
