Canterbury Ladies 2s travelled to play Eastbourne today and by no means was it quiet in the car with Lorna and Freya!
We arrived at Eastbourne eager to keep our 100% winning streak , after having an intense warm up we were ready to play.
We started strong but got too relaxed on the ball meaning we were able to give them space which played to their advantage of wanting to hit the long balls.
A couple good attacks came from Eastbourne but GK Becs was there every time to save the shot.
Energy was low at half time but after a couple of sweets and a motivational team talk we were ready to get a goal.
Eastbourne clearly wanted the goal as much as us and managed to gain a deflection from a short corner. They kept trying those deflections but Emma was always there to save them off the line.
Canterbury were not willing to lose the game, and so took the ball from a 16 and passed it wide with Lorna travelling up the side line with a ball into Chirpy who slipped it to Alice who belted it into the goal.
Time was running out for Canterbury to take the 3 points but ended the game without success on a good attack.
