On a gorgeous sunny day, Canterbury ladies 4s took on Gore Court 2s away. The team was a nice balanced mix of experience and youth with lots of over 40s and lots of under 18s (and none in between!).
Canterbury played well, keeping possession very well with some great passing and dominated the game from the start. With ongoing pressure we remained patient and eventually broke the deadlock with a cracking strike from Evie Watkins from the top of the D that beat the keeper to make us 1-0 at 25 minutes. This was followed by a 2nd 5 minutes later with a great team move that first shifted the ball from our left to centre followed by a rifled pass from Alex Hooker that was finished well with an amazing deflection by the goal scoring pro Moi Moi. The half time score was 2-0 up to Canterbury. The second half was played in similar fashion with Canterbury keeping the majority of possession and although we couldn’t add to our tally the game was played in great spirit and great humour. Final score 2-0 win.
