Our lunchtime game began with Heather forgetting the shirts in her car, broom broom…
It was a slow and steady start with no goals in the first half, although many good attempts were had, none were successful, all went off the back! The ball stayed in the opposition 25 for most of the first half, which left frustrated as we just couldn’t get it over the line.
Halftime saw Percy Pigs consumed – oink oink 🐷 and a solid team talk to just be patient and believe that once we get one, more will follow. How true that was!
The second half started with aggression and positivity but still no goals. We had an array of short corners and finally, after 55 minutes, Alex and Munnsy smashed in two goals! Altitude sickness alert!
Then a lovely run by Heather up the pitch, passed into Izzy who dribbled through the defenders and hit the ball into the net. The last goal came from scrambled deflections off the defender by our lovely Kait, her first goal for Canterbury. 💚 A well deserved win!
