Canterbury Ladies 3s worked hard in what proved to be a tough and fast-paced match against a strong Sevenoaks side.
Sevenoaks managed to score within the first five minutes after a quick break which caught Canterbury off-guard. Despite the early setback, Canterbury responded efficiently by tightening their structure and showing impressive composure for the remainder of the half. Ro had lots of impressive saves and Freyja made some excellent tackles.
At half-time, the score was 0-1 and Canterbury decided to focus on improving their defensive support, particularly making sure the midfield tracked back quickly during Sevenoaks’ breaks. In the second half Canterbury’s midfield worked consistently, to protect the middle and move the ball up the pitch when they could. Both sides had multiple chances, but Canterbury’s hard work didn’t quite result in the goal they were wanting. However, Pippa and Sav had some dangerous looking break throughs. In the final five minutes, Sevenoaks unfortunately managed to score their second, making the final score 0–2.
Although the result didn’t go their way, Canterbury showed resilience and determination throughout the match.
