Lost 2-3
Scorers: Immy Georgia………. almost Kate…. almost Gill
MoM: Charlotte closed second Laura and Kate
DoD: Julie for not avoiding the watering jets!
With thanks to team sponsor L5 http://www.ovendenplant.co.uk
A spirited Holcs started brightly and within the first five minutes Charlotte was having to make some amazing saves!
Laura in defence was busy and for the first 10 minutes we were battling to gain some control. Holcs took advantage and scored first which was probably the turning point that the home side needed.
With the introduction of Georgia and her wicked stick stills ( not bad from a GK! ) the green and white managed to draw level following several corners and a huge strike from Kate that was turned in by Immy.
An early second half short corner was timely saved by the Holcs GK followed, not long after a shot saved on the line, Although the bench saw it differently!
Gill was also unlucky not to score at the near post.
If this report sounds one sided then you are definitely mistaken, Holcs and Canterbury were well matched, the oppo fielded some skillful quick young players and certainly had us turning on our heels .
I was a little distracted when Hocs scored their second goal by the starlings signing at the top of their voices in pitch side hedge, but I certainly didn’t miss our 60th minute goal from our GK/CF import.
Holcs broke our hearts with 5 mins to go with a cracking goal from them. A score draw would have been nice but that third goal was a bit out of our reach!
Well done Team a fantastic effort by everyone, same again next week please!
Well done Andy and Matt for umpiring, and as always our generous sponsors OVENDENPLANT.Co.Uk
