The ladies 4s were eager to get their second game of the season underway at Gillingham Anchorians. Alex made big promises of chocolate prizes for player of the match which made all of us about 3mph quicker. After she gave the umpires a quick reminder of the rules, we were off.

Canterbury played with determination throughout to win possession and made some great advances up the pitch. This was rewarded early on with a penalty stroke. It was never in doubt that Sibs would send it past the keeper making it 1-0. Our defence worked relentlessly to deny attempts on goal with Ellie and Freyja calm under pressure. Anchorians were awarded a penalty stroke which Ro saved and went on to make numerous quality saves all game.

With a green card and ice pack for Poppy we headed into the half time break.

Anchorians fought relentlessly to get into the D and after numerous short corners were able to convert with a bobbly shot at goal to make it 1-1.
We finished happy knowing we’d all put in 110%. Josefa was nominated our player of the match after a brilliant game. Special shout out to Izzy after a big collision. Feel better soon!
