Great but late turn up from the 3’s for Saturdays game against Ashford away. With a surprise return for the skier Jess we were buzzing for the game. We started off strong and showed some good determination from the start.
Although we didn’t have a lot of possession we worked hard off the ball. Unfortunately after numerous short corners well defended Ashford eventually got a goal and we went 1-0 down. Following this there were some unreal saves from Georgia in goal. Twisting, turning and smacking the ball away mid air.
Then some dodgy calls on a so called ‘early break’ (which was actually Ashford moving the ball twice rather that us breaking the line) but again some great defending we ended the first half trialing by one goal.
Thanks to Charlie running our bench and a lovely team talk for the skipper we went back into the second half, sadly conceded another goal. We finally got ourselves a short corner and took full advantage of it. Lovely touch from Chirpy to send it through the keepers legs, 2-1 it was and this encouraged us. Unfortunately we could not keep it that way and a bit of unlucky left the final score at 4-1 go Ashford. Onto the next…
