3 games into the 2024/25 season and we can confidently say that we are on a super positive trajectory!! After a strong and intense warm up we were ready for a tough but exciting game. Stoked to be starting with the ball, we began the game, from that first pass back we felt the upper hand, as we worked together connecting passes as we practised in training.
After a strong quarter-time chat, we all felt the motivation to continue our intensity and make some simple changes to enhance our playing style. The positive chat was up at the start of the second quarter but unfortunately, Old Loughts got a cheeky goal that took the score to 0-1.
Instead of dropping our heads, we held that same intensity and reminded ourselves to stay positive and go back to the basics. After a couple of minutes, our strong teamwork finally paid off as we scored an amazing team goal, starting all the way at the back with a transfer, going into multiple short sharp passes up the line to the t-spot for a beautiful pass to the top of the circle where our man of the match smashed the ball into the bottom left corner. A super exciting moment for all of us.
Even though the game ended as a 1-1 draw, we all walked off that pitch feeling so proud of ourselves, and each other, for displaying 4 intense and consistent quarters of hockey. The after-game debrief was full of laughs and smiling faces as all our hard work was paying off. Bring on round 4!
