Today Canterbury 3’s faced the challenge of Maidstone away, with Maidstone having been regulated last season, so likely to be a strong opposition. Both teams started strong, Canterbury raring to go from the starting whistle, surprising Maidstone with out youthful and speedy team- Canterbury took the lead after EJ scored a rapid hit from the top of the D. This spurred Maidstone on resulting in Georgia (GK) saving a number of shots in a tense series of rebounds. However Maidstone began to fight back and scored, equalising the score. Towards the end of the first half Maidstone took the lead with a cracking straight strike from a short corner. At half time the score was 2-1.
Canterbury continued to fight with Chloe and Mim making some great runs up the line and Chirpy and Fee having some very close calls on the goal posts. Unfortunately Maidstone managed to score another goal, making the score 3-1. Despite a couple of tumbles from Jess and EJ, Canterbury remained strong nevertheless, Maidstone ended the match victorious with a score of 3-1.
