We traveled the short distance to Ashford to play in what could only be said as a grudge match. Ashford were looking for revenge after the reserve fixture at polo was a 3-2 win for Canterbury!

With a very unconventional warm up happening in front of some residents houses and some confused newbies we got ourselves ready. Ashford took an early lead with a broken down short corner that was taped in at the near post by one of their younger players. Canterbury swiftly replied through Hursty who coolly placed it bottom corner after a composed pass from Riley.

Ashford converted on the counter with a reserve stick shot finding the small gap between brads legs. 2-1. Unfortunately at half time we found ourselves 3-1 down after a well worked PC by Ashford.

The second half proved more fruitful and we were in top being the first to score after Freddie decided he would be the one to take this game on, and picked the ball up at our 25’ and dribbled all they way into Ashfords D and made a very simple pass for Bucks to tap in.
Canterbury had the better chances 2nd half and we think 3-3 or maybe evening a win was probably fair.

We play Folkestone next week, and I tell you what, that will definitely be one to watch…👀🤫
