Canterbury faced Havant in the hope of getting their first win after the winter break. TikTok star Nathan Fouhy lasted only half of the warm up before getting injured. However, the mood in the Canterbury camp was confident and was evident with a fast start. Canterbury kept possession well and advanced down both flanks with intent and success. Opportunities arouse with well worked balls from the baseline and other threatening areas. Canterbury’s forwards were quick to pounce on the Havant’s goalkeeper for rebounds which saw some nice saves being made.

The second quarter saw Canterbury in control of play for the majority, with Havant having some chances including a short corner which Tom Richford deflected off the goal line! Canterbury scored in the third quarter through Hamish Roberts slotting the ball past the Havant goalkeeper. A flurry of Canterbury short corners finally paid off through a drag-flick from Tom Bean past the head of Havants goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Chris Rea made some top saves to keep Havant out. With the game opening up as Havant looked for a goal, Canterbury got their third with a ball across the D by Jack Valentine which a Havant defender accidentally tipped in. Jack then won a controversial P flick from a baseline dribble. Boyne stepped up, but put the ball wide. The ending saw Canterbury have 2 or 3 overloaded counter attacks, but couldn’t put the ball in the net.
