Canterbury got to polo farm bright and early for an 11am pushback on AW1. Looking strong and dominating most of the first half we were unlucky to get to half time with a 0-0 score line but a motivational team talk from Nikki sibs Lara and moi (and Jaffa cakes) gave us a well needed boost before the second half. Unfortunately gillingham broke away and scored 2 goals quite quickly putting canterbury on the back foot. However an incredible shot from Sophie at top D gave Canterbury their first goal, this caused much uproar amongst the opposition and resulted in their centre back getting a red card and being removed from the pitch and surrounding areas. This only gave Canterbury more motivation and another goal soon followed from Lara. With only a few minutes remaining Nikki scored a worldie from a long corner taking it in herself and smashing it into the net right past the keeper.
