The Pilgrims made the long journey down to sunny Hastings with a bare 11 and a mission to bring 3 points back to Canterbury. We came out strong, playing some really good hockey, getting the ball up to our strikers and using the wings as a threat, which was working well. We then earned a short corner and managed to score from the rebound. As we headed into the last few minutes of the first half, Brad somehow got lobbed from two feet away, but we were still up 2-1 at halftime.
We came back out for the second half and continued playing the way we were, outplaying the opposition and dominating possession. We had a 10-minute stretch of short corners, with some amazing saves from their keeper. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t convert any of them. However, at the end of the game, we came away with a 4-2 win and the 3 points to bring back on the train with us to Canterbury.
