With Moi returning from a year out due to injury, the spirits were high in the changing rooms before the warm up had even begun or it might have been the fact Nikki brought a whiteboard with her, very professional. Moi also brought Freyja with her who unfortunately was still out on the bench but luckily this week there were no teeth in her head, just a few stitches.

When we arrived to the bottom pitch things started to take a turn for the worse. With captain Nikki turning on the water, all that came out was a measly trickle, whether that was from her or the water cannons we will never know!
With the warm ups underway the umpires came down to inspect the desert. Ten minutes to go till pushback and the water still wasn’t working, the decision was made to take a long journey up to the sand pitch and wait for the next game to finish before we could start.

The whistle blew for a Sevenoaks pushback, Sibs was setting her timer and in the blink of an eye we were one nil down. It would be nice to say we tried hard to fend them off but Sibs hadn’t even had the chance to start the clock before it went in! Perhaps we could blame the carpet monster that tripped Ellie up right in front of the D. With Canterbury utterly confused, we gathered ourselves and started the fight. Moi immediately went back to her old ways doing a diving reverse stick pass down the line and ending up in a pile, almost very superhero-esque.
It had got to half time and we had managed to keep a very strong Sevenoaks side at only 2-0.

An inspiring pep talk from Moi, Sibs and Nikki must have worked wonders as a super solo goal from Lottie who took it round 3 Sevenoaks players and a textbook LBZ into the netting got us our goal! With strong plays from Moi in the attack meant our defenders could get some rest and Maddie could get her breath back and continue her conversation with herself. However a short corner for Sevenoaks left Munnsey with a black and blue target printed on her leg! The final score was 4-1 to Sevenoaks! Bring on next week and let’s get back to our winning ways!
